Update — We've upgraded the Islamic Calendar across both the Android app and the iOS Web App.

The calendar now includes Islamic Special Events and Festivals marked directly on the Hijri months, with context and descriptions for each occasion. This works the same way whether you're on the native Android app or the iOS Web PWA.

Because Islamic months rely heavily on Local Sighting (Ru'yat), rigid astronomical calculations don't always align with the actual practices of your local community. We built the calendar to be adjustable for regional variations while keeping the same minimalist layout.

Next up, we're working on an Islamic Historical Events feature, planned for early 2027, which will add historical milestones and timelines to the calendar.

iPhone users can now use the full "Minimalism as a Sanctuary" experience without needing the App Store. Using standard web app tools, you can install Muslim Sphere to your home screen and use it like a regular app.

This update addresses the diverse needs of the local community by providing granular control over jurisprudential (Madhab) calculations.

Responding directly to user feedback from the Mauritian Ummah, the platform — developed in collaboration with DBS DESIGNING and I'M TECHNOLOGIES® — now features a dynamic toggle between Hanafi and Shafi'i calculation methods. This technical refinement ensures absolute precision in determining the transition between Zohr and Asr, reflecting the specific scholarly traditions practiced across the island.

Update — We've moved Muslim Sphere's Quran data onto an API we built and maintain ourselves. The goal was simple: faster load times and one less external service in the chain between you and the text.

This was made possible with support from I'M® AI, the internal engine built by I'M TECHNOLOGIES®. Moving to our own API has reduced our reliance on third-party services, which means fewer points of failure and more consistent performance for you.

This is one of those changes you won't see directly, but should notice in how the app feels — quicker, steadier, and built with care for the long run.
